MOZART Symphony No. 27
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 20
MOZART Symphony No. 40
Penned when he was only 17 years old, Mozart’s charming Symphony No. 27 is a short but sweet toast to Milan, where he visited with his father to learn more about opera composition. The last two works on this program are dramatic displays of sunshine and wit versus turbulence and tempestuousness. The concerto will brim with fire in the hands of the stunning French pianist Hélène Grimaud. Symphony No. 40 is his most-performed symphony for its infectious opening melody, one of Mozart’s most-whistled tunes.
